FAQs

What are the best rolling papers?

The best rolling papers are the ones that suit the way you roll, so think about size, thickness and material. Monkey King's King Size Slim papers use 14gsm ultra-thin paper made from natural wood fibres with 100% natural Arabic gum, and our extreme thin range is just 12.5gsm. You can choose unbleached, hemp, coloured or scented papers, in sizes from Regular 70 and Medium 1¼ to King Size Slim and 4m rolls.

How do you roll tobacco?
To roll your own tobacco, put a filter tip at one end of a rolling paper, spread tobacco evenly along it, then roll, tuck and seal the paper. Hold the paper with the gum strip at the top, facing you. Roll it back and forth between your thumbs and fingers to shape an even cylinder, tuck the near edge over, roll upwards and lightly moisten the gum to seal. Regular 70 papers are the standard cigarette size, and card filter tips come pre-punctured for easy rolling.
How do you roll a cone?
The easiest way is to use a pre-rolled cone. Just fill it, pack it down gently and twist the end closed. Monkey King Pre-Rolled Cones are king size slim with a filter tip already in place, and each 3-pack includes a packing tray and pokers. Choose pink, unbleached or hemp. To roll a cone by hand, roll a king size paper at a slight angle around a filter tip, so one end ends up wider than the other.

Rolling Papers – Find Your Perfect Match
Rolling papers come in a variety of types, sizes, and materials, each offering a unique experience. Whether you prefer to roll by hand or want the convenience of pre-rolled options, understanding the differences can help you choose the best fit for your needs.
Classic Rolling Papers vs Pre-Rolled Papers

Traditional Rolling Papers – Classic folded or flat sheets designed for rolling by hand or with a rolling machine. Available in different sizes and materials, they offer complete control over how you roll and pack your smoke.
Pre-Rolled Papers – Perfect for those who want to skip the rolling process. These ready-made cones allow for easy filling, making them ideal for beginners or anyone who wants a quick and consistent roll.

Which Size Rolling Paper is Best?
Rolling papers come in a range of sizes to suit different preferences:

King Size Slim (108mm x 44mm) – The most popular size for those who like a longer, slow-burning roll. Ideal for sharing or long-lasting personal use.
Medium 1 ¼ (76mm x 44mm) – A slightly smaller size, perfect for a balanced roll that’s not too big or too small and with the same width as a king size.
Regular 70 (68mm x 36mm) – Often known as a rizla and similar in size to a standard cigarette paper, making it a great choice for those who prefer a more compact smoke.
4m Rolls (4M x 44mm) – A single continuous strip of rolling paper, allowing you to customise the length of your roll to your exact preference. The smoking paper rolls are typically 44mm wide, the same as a medium 1 1/4 or king size slim paper.

Common Rolling Paper Materials

Hemp Papers – Made from natural hemp fibres, these papers offer a smooth, slow burn with minimal processing. A great eco-friendly option but can be prone to side burning if not rolled evenly.
Rice Papers – Ultra-thin and slow-burning, rice papers provide a clean, flavourless smoke with minimal ash, making them a favourite for those who prefer a smoother experience. Also prone to side burning with uneven rolls.
Unbleached Papers – Brown in colour and free from harsh chemicals or bleaching processes, providing a more natural smoking experience. Can be prone to side burning if not rolled evenly.
White Papers – The classic choice, these are traditionally made from wood pulp and may be lightly processed for a more even burn. These tend not to side burn as often compared to hemp, rice or unbleached.
Coloured Papers – Fun and stylish, available in a range of eye-catching colours or even flavoured varieties for an extra unique experience. These tend to burn with a faster, even burn.

Whatever your preference, our selection of rolling papers has something for every smoker. Explore the range and find the perfect papers to suit your style!
